LSDV Officially Celebrates TEN BEST SELLING TITLES!!!!

When I wrote "A Hood Chick's Story" back in 2007, I never imagined that writing full-time would eventually become my career let alone becoming a publisher. I was in a dark place back then, my little brother was murdered in 2005, my big brother was doing an 8 year bid and I was losing people left and right to the streets. I had to look my mother in her fragile eyes every day and stay strong after she had just lost her baby boy at the tender age of eighteen. You truly never know how much strength you have until you've been tested because I couldn't allow myself to fully mourn. I wanted to be strong for everyone around me, I had to! The system wouldn't even allow my older brother to get out of jail to attend our little brother's funeral and I knew it tore him up. That's when I needed to do something therapeutic to keep me sane. While catching the train to work in the morning, I would write pieces of my story on small pieces of paper and sometimes even tissues. Those small pieces of paper ended up birthing my first book. Most of my truth was written in "A Hood Chick's Story" because I knew that there were other LaShonda DeVaughn's out there that could relate to my story. That very book turned into a machine that would forever change my life. The hustler in me forced me to turn down book deals and remain my own publisher. Six years later, after quitting my corporate job, I'm my own boss, I've formed a power house and with the love and support from my authors, all my readers and supporters, I'm proud to say that my company LSDV Productions has TEN Best Selling Titles under it's umbrella. Now tell me that isn't GOD's work! #POW #Blessed

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I've definitely been trying to enjoy this good weather all the while being a mom, writing, publishing and producing these hits. But hey, no one said it'd be easy right? So I'm enjoying the ride. That being said, I'm happy to say that a release date for "When A Woman's Fed Up pt. 2" is FINALLY here!!! Yall ready???..................Ok!..........Here Goes!....... August 26th is the OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE FOR THIS BANGER!!! #LSDV is officially helping you end your summer with a BANG! And when I say a BANG, trust me when I say these stories are going to have you talking for the rest of the year. Tracee Boyd, India and myself were NOT PLAYING! Since yall requested a part 2, we gave yall everything that you could ever ask for in a book: Sex, Murder, Lies, Suspense and certified ACTION! I've been told that I was the Queen of the anthology movement because of the success of I'd Rather Be Single & When A Woman's Fed Up pt. 1. It was always rumored that anthologies don't usually make that much noise. Well yall know I don't release a damn thing unless I will guarantee that it will make noise for my fans. Okay so, let me fill y'all in on what's poppin next for LSDV Productions... First, I'm happy to report that I've been working away at "I'd Rather Be Single pt. 3", so y'all will NOT be waiting long ;).... BUT next up, #LSDV will be releasing "When A Woman's Fed Up 2"!!! Yessss, you heard it right.. Me, India and Tracee Boyd have teamed up again to bring forth another heat rock! All the reviews were KILLA for part one and the demand for part 2 was hardcore so as always, I got y'all!.... Now, before that big drop, I'm so excited about my new series that I'm debating if I should release a sneak peek into my next series on Amazon just to give y'all a taste of how crazy this series is about to be. Man, y'all thought A Hood Chick's Story was cray, this joint right HERE is pure bananas!! So while you wait for "When A Woman's Fed Up 2" to drop, you may just see me release the sneak peek so that you'll have something to read in the meantime...

What's poppin yall!!!

I'm proud to say that I'd Rather Be Single pt. 2 dropped on 3-15-13 and smashed em!!!! Y'all asked me for a part 2 and I told y'all that I would deliver and it means the world to me that you guys are loving it so far!! The Amazon, Barnes & Noble reviews, inboxes and emails keep me smiling. Y'all always remind me why I love what I do :). That being said "I'd Rather Be Single Pt. 3" is in the works and I hope that everyone is looking forward to it because I'm going to make this one crack the game wide open!

With so many projects on the horizon from LSDV, it's hard for me to sit still and write but I PROMISE, I got y'all covered... I've missed everyone! Been busy getting the LSDV Productions line-up in place and writing my heart out at the same damn time. We are literally only a few months into 2013 and we are already putting out the second release of the year. The first release was "Daddy's Baby, Mamas Maybe" by LSDV's talented Author Tracee Boyd and let me just say that y'all showed LOVE! I told y'all that her book was a smash  and thanks to all of you it became an instant Best Seller! Congratulations again Tracee!!

What's poppin yall, Happy New Year!!!! Hope everyone is going harder than they were last year; the grind should NEVER STOP :)..... That being said, today's #RelationshipWed is juicy! I must admit, yall have really been coming hard with these stories... keep sending them and I will do my best to respond to them all. Hope my bit of advice can be encouraging and not discouraging...... enjoy!

Hey LaShonda, I would really like your input on my situation. Ok, I've been with my dude for four years. We met when we were both freshmans in College. However, I recently graduated, he dropped out the second semester of our freshman year. Throughout College, I was on bum status lol, eating noodles and scraping money to pay my bills. Although my man was no longer in College, he was also scraping change together to pay the little bills that he had so I never thought too much into him being stable since I was in College living life on a whim as well. I honestly believe that he's my soulmate, everything about us just clicks. We have fun together, we can talk about anything and he knows me better than anyone else and vice versa. The problem is, I have my B.A. in Accounting and has since landed a blossoming position at an Accounting Firm. My babe on the other hand has been hopping from gig to gig, the latest one being a damn TATTOO SHOP! He doesn't even know how to do tattoos!! He has no goals, no plans, he's just floating through life aimlessly. The even bigger problem is that I allowed him to move into my apartment and it's starting to really annoy me to come home and see him laying on the couch, watching TV or playing video games. My girls say that I'm being too nice and that what we had in the past was puppy love and I need to let go. They're always  preaching about how I really need a real MAN. I kinda agree but how can I just kick my babe out knowing he has nowhere to go? What do you think? This has been bothering me for a few months now and I really need to make a decision.

You definitely sound like a loyal girlfriend. You stuck with your man when he decided to surrender his education and just bum it up and go nowhere fast. It takes a WHOLE lot of patience to deal with that. However, sometimes being loyal can be good and bad. When you have the amazing ability to be loyal (because a lot of hoes, I mean chicks, ain't built with loyalty traits) then you must choose to be loyal to the RIGHT person. I'm not saying your man is the wrong person but at this point y'all are both grown. You're not in college anymore, you have entered the real world and bills are REAL. Bills can't be paid off of his "potential" to do better. Having a freeloader invade your crib is not a good look. I believe in both parties bringing something to the table even if he isn't the breadwinner. It's time for him to be real about his future, you mentioned that he had no goals and no expectations, well tell homeboy it's time to get some, simple as that. If he objects to not finding something stable and continue the trait of starting something and quitting then kicking him out is his problem, not yours. It's not your fault that he has no place to go, you worked hard so that you DO have a place to go, sleep, eat and sh*t. It's his turn! You have to put your foot down or things won't change, point blank. I seriously wish you the best of luck because you seem to really love him. This could end up being a beautiful love story since you have so much history together. But if he doesn't try harder then you have to exercise some tough love and kick him OUT. Maybe then he would try harder... Wish you both well & happy New Year!
